Take A Tour Of The Gibson Distillery

Gibson Distillery

Got a taste for Alabama whiskey? Or are you interested in sampling some of the best? Then you should check out Gibson Distilling Company in Headland, Alabama. Here, they pride themselves on making “easy drinking” rye and corn whiskey, mellowed by charcoal and aged in oak barrels to achieve the perfect Southern whiskey taste.

Tasting Events at the Distillery

Whether you’re a whiskey aficionado or just someone who wants to expand their spirit palate, you can sample Gibson’s offerings without committing to a whole bottle – but it’s a safe bet that after you’ve tasted it, you’ll want to.

  • Free tastings. Come by to sample our Southern whiskey on site at our distillery Wednesday through Saturday from 1 to 8 p.m. These tastings are FREE (of course, you have to be at least 21 years of age to sample).
  • Distillery Tours. Visit us to tour the facility and get an up-close view of how our whiskey is made. The tour of our micro-distillery only takes about 10 minutes, so pair it with one of our free tastings for the full experience.
  • Special Events. Contact Gibson Distillery to inquire about upcoming special events. You can also contact them if you’re interested in doing a tasting at your own event.

Gibson Distilling Company is located at 115 West Church Street, Headland, AL 36345. Additionally, you can find bottles of Gibson products for sale at select local retailers including ABC Select Spirits Dothan, ABC Select Spirits Headland, Basket of Cheer in Dothan, The Cellar in Dothan, and Village Spirits in Troy.

Gibson Master Distiller

Master Distiller Lloyd Keel began his distilling career in the 1970s and has spent the past 50 years experimenting with various grains and processes. He has perfected the art of making premium, small-batch, single-barrel spirits including George Gibson Rye Whiskey, Corn Whiskey, and Corn Vodka.

According to Keel, “Making the best requires time, a lot of effort, good ingredients – and a great recipe helps a lot, too.” At Gibson Distillery, they make sure to include all of the above.
